Since 1977, the International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc (ICSC) has given the International Design & Development Award to many developers for their creative new designs in retail projects such as the Capitol Shopping Center in Istanbul, Turkey; the Galleria in Fort Lauderdale, Flordia, USA; and the Multiplaza Pacific in Panama City, Panama. This year the ICSC announced the winner of its 32nd annual Design and Development Award is the Branson Landing in Branson, Missouri, USA.
This compeititon has two general categories of which contestants can enter, the first category being Innovative Design and Construction of a New Project, the second being renovation or Expansion of an Existing Project. The Branson Landing was one of the 7 finalists which include the City Center Almere in Almere, Netherlands; the Domain in Austin, Texas, USA; the Manufaktura in Lodz, Poland; La Centrra at Cinco Ranc in Katy, Texas, USA; the Sihlcity in Zurich, Switzerland; and Tokyo Midtown in Tokyo, Japan. These finalists were selected out of 63 entries for this award which represented 25 different countries all around the world.
The winner was announced in an awards ceremony during the ICSC Center Build Conference in Phoenix, Arizona where Rick Huffman, CEO of HCW Development Company, accepted the award in the Innovative Design and Construcion of a New Project. This award was said to be for the shops that were opened within the time period of July 1,2005 and June 30, 2007. Winners of each category are eligible for the “Best-of-the-Best” award which will be presented at the International Council of Shopping Centers annual convention being held May 17-20, 2009.

The Branson Landing is a wonderful place to spend the day whether you are just browsing the shops or looking for something special. My family visits the Landing several times a year and we can easily spend an entire day there. They have places to eat, shopping for every age, and even a cruise! Have you not had a chance to go down to the Landing? I have been there several times and its definitely a place where you bring lots of cash to make those impulse purchases. Thats why I dont go very often..:)

I shop at the Branson Landing all the time. Always end up spending a few hours shopping, or all day even. I’m glad it got some recognition.

Wow! How awesome to get such an award. The Landing definitely deserved it. It has such a neat atmosphere, and the water and fire show is really cool to watch. We like to go at night when the street is lit up. It’s very pretty.

I only go to the Landing when I need to go school shopping or want to spend a bunch of money. All the stores are just conveniently all in one place. Makes it that much easier to spend some cash.
Branson has always been know for its outlet malls, now it has something new and improved to offer… Branson landing. At the branson landing you can go have your self a few drinks or buy some close or enjoy a delectiable meal.
I enjoy the Landing, but the outlet malls are still the best place to go for the deals!
I have family coming to town this year from Florida and I cant wait to take them to the Branson Landing. I cant think of a better place to go. They have lodging, dining, shopping, entertainment and oh yes did I mention shopping.
It is competing with some pretty elite shopping centers around the world.
Even in the cold of winter, Branson Landing is a great place to visit and shop.

I love the outside style of this mall specially during summer..oh and then fountain light show is great too..I got to watch it while enjoying a great gourmet Mexican meal.
