Branson visitors, prepare for year-round water park fun in ’09 with the coming addition of Castle Rock Resort & Waterpark. Formerly known as Atrium Inn, Castle Rock Resort & Waterpark has completely renovated its current rooms throughout the last part of 2008, while expanding with an additional 100 suites and indoor waterpark.
The indoor waterpark itself is not set to be open until mid February, though guests can currently take advantage of the resort’s accommodations. Both standard rooms and a variety of suites are available for reservation and coupled with amenities including a children’s activity center and Castle Rock Restaurant.
Of course, the main draw of Castle Rock is undoubtedly its indoor waterpark, and while there’s still over a month before its official opening the resort has already presented the public with an idea of what to expect. As just a sample, the waterpark will feature three slides, splash pool, lazy river, and even outdoor options including a wading pool and activity pool for when the weather does cooperate with your vacation plans! Below, you’ll find a detailed list of the current activities set to be part of the grand opening of the waterpark.
Tentative Castle Rock Waterpark Rides and Attractions
- The Cork Screw – a spiraling, half-pipe slide
- Tube Slide – 30 ft, one or two person tube slide
- Lazy River – gently flowing river with inner-tubes
- Kiddies Zero Depth Entry Pool – shallow, play area for children with small slides and interactive structures
- Outdoor Kiddies Splash Pool – outdoor play area with fountains
- Outdoor Wading Pool – relaxing, shallow pool for those that want to take it easy
- Outdoor Activity Pool – pool for active visitors with multi-level sun deck and structured activities held throughout the summer season.

This sounds like so much fun, to be able to go to an indoor water park while it is still cold outside.
It’s about time that Branson got some kind of resort – it’s been a popular tourist attraction for years now.
This sounds like it is going to be real fun, something I will want to take my daughter to. They need more indoor waterparks in Branson so when it’s cool outside you can still take your kids swimming. So like alot of fun
I am so happy to hear that there will be a year round water park in Southwest Missouri. More than half the year here, you are unable to swim due to it being so cold. I can’t wait to be swimming while its snowing outside!!
This Waterpark sounds great! I can’t wait to see some pictures of this place.
Glad to here about a year round water park in Branson. It’s good to know that I can go swimming in December! =]]
This is making me reconsider my fear of water. Sounds like it could be a blast.
I would love to go to the new indoor water park, i think it would be cool to go to a water park that is indoors, ive been to several water parks before but never one that wasnt out side.
This sounds great! There isn’t as much to do in Branson during the winter months, so this will be a great addition and will provide entertainment year-round.
i would love to go to an indoor waterpark whenever i wanted to
A water park for all seasons is a great idea. There isn’t that much winter recreation in Missouri so I agree that it will be nice to have this recreation option in the winter. Still I bet this will really be a hit and take off when the temperature outside gets up into the 80s and 90s.
Can’t wait to go see this place! It sounds awesome!
Castle Rock Resort sounds like a place I would love to stay while spending a weekend in Branson.
iv been to white water and i thought it was really fun so i would love to go to castle rock resort for a weekend
I think this is a great thing for Branson. It will give people something to do all year long. I can’t wait.
I would like to stay in the resort and go to the waterpark to that is really convient everything all in one place.
i have been to water parks but not this one. I have never been to a resort though and this is all in one that would be great to go to
I have never been to an indoor water park. I think it would be cool for some hot winter fun.
This is a great idea for anyone with children. Rain or shine there’s bound to happy faces.
It’s almost open, I can’t wait to take my daughter.
FINALLY……. Castle Rock, is our savior. I know a lot of people like to travel during the winter time to branson, so they don’t have to deal with all the crowds. The only with draw with vacationing in the winter is that the options were limited, and not a lot of options. Now mom and dad can go enjoy thier favorite shows and take the lil ones to the water park all in the same day.
It will be nice to take the kids to do something fun during the winter when we can’t get outside!
Yeah, like today. Today would be a nice day to go to an indoor water park…
I don’t know Hannah, I look outside and see so much snow that I do not want to get wet. Its too cold for that.
I hate hot weather. I rather visit when its nice and cool. Also not that many people toughing it out.
Robert I think Today would be a fantastic day to go to a indoor water park still some snow on the ground and the sun is shinning all pretty. Its all inside no need to worry about freezing.
Robert im going to have to agree with the ladies, they are right it would be so nice to go to an indoor water park when it is this cold out side. no worries there will be heat at the water park
It sounds really cool to be able to go swimming in the winter! I think me and my family will go there this year!
Lazy rivers are pretty awesome. You can swim and it pulls you along.
Lazy rivers are my favorite! They are so calm and relaxing.
This sounds really fun and I will probably go when it opens.
I love water rides the Cork Screw sounds like it would be alot of fun.
