Car lovers and families can join in the fun at the second annual Branson Mustang Rally, providing a full car show and attractions on June 8-12 at the Ramada Inn Resort and Conference Center. The festivities will start with a mouth-watering welcome dinner, show and shine featuring some of the top Ford Mustang models and Mustang cruises. Child-oriented activities like go-kart racing and movies will be available as well. Best of all, the event’s proceeds will benefit special need children and toddlers at the Christian development center, Little Light House. The whole family is invited to participate in this event that features everything Mustang!

Wood artists from all over the state will come out to the 27th spring Woodcarving Seminar to learn new ways to refine their techniques and meet with others who share the same passion for wood carving. Those that are interested in participating are encouraged to sign up sooner rather than later, as instructors will only be able to take approximately 15 carvers for each class. The seminar will also demonstrate the proper way to paint carvings that have already been detailed. In addition, for those that are hungry, the Rendezvous will be hosting a special barbecue dinner for all carvers, with special door prizes as well.

Participants will rev their engines at Branson’s 10th Annual Motorcycle Rally on May 19-22, featuring motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the country and plenty of entertainment. The Freedom of the Road Riders will sponsor the event, giving visitors a chance to see some of the most famous bikes in the world, as well as a live performance by the band, Geneva as they perform their Rock N Ride Tour. Geneva and Billy Bretherton, star of “Billy the Exterminator,” will be signing autographs for fans. In addition, several show performers will be at the Mansion for this special event, including 3 Redneck Tenors, Red and The Liverpool Legends.
Remember to reserve your tickets for some of the other great shows in Branson as well, and if you’re planning on staying in Branson for all three days of the Motorcycle Rally, you’ll want to book your Branson lodging in one of its fine hotels. Plan for the festivities ahead of time!

Experienced anglers and leisurely fisherman are sure to have a good time participating in the 2011 Team Trout Championship at Lilley’s Landing in Branson on February 26! The winners will be awarded with cash and prizes by catching the heaviest rainbow and brown trout, and this year you could win up to $800 for catching the heaviest brown trout. Anglers must enter the contest in teams of two and use only artificial bait. Those who are not competitive but still want to participate can enter the catch-and-release tournament taking place at the same time. Visitors and locals will be heading over to Table Rock Lake on February 12 for a cold swim. Although the temperature may not be favorable to swimmers, the fundraising event puts money toward the Special Olympics, so it goes for a great cause to support others. Swimmers that raise $50 and more will benefit with a special Polar Plunge sweatshirt, and there are many other prizes to be won as well, including duffel bags, hoodies, backpacks and travel gift cards.
Many of the prizes will be distributed at the “Post Plunge Party,” which will incorporate fun music, delicious food and a silent and live auction into the event as well. If you went for a swim beforehand, admission into the party is free of charge! It’s a Branson event that all can look forward to, whether they’re “hibernating” as spectators, or diving in for a cold swim. New Year’s Eve is arriving closer and closer each day, and you won’t want to miss all of the festivities going on in Branson during this time! Many of Branson’s theaters and shows will be closing during December for the rest of the season, and if you’re planning an early Christmas vacation in Branson, you’ll want to reserve your show tickets today. Most shows will be providing audiences with their last performance on either December 11th or December 12th. Once the performers of the show have completed their season, they’ll be spending much of the next few months in preparation for next year’s shows and events.
