Car lovers and families can join in the fun at the second annual Branson Mustang Rally, providing a full car show and attractions on June 8-12 at the Ramada Inn Resort and Conference Center. The festivities will start with a mouth-watering welcome dinner, show and shine featuring some of the top Ford Mustang models and Mustang cruises. Child-oriented activities like go-kart racing and movies will be available as well. Best of all, the event’s proceeds will benefit special need children and toddlers at the Christian development center, Little Light House. The whole family is invited to participate in this event that features everything Mustang!

Wood artists from all over the state will come out to the 27th spring Woodcarving Seminar to learn new ways to refine their techniques and meet with others who share the same passion for wood carving. Those that are interested in participating are encouraged to sign up sooner rather than later, as instructors will only be able to take approximately 15 carvers for each class. The seminar will also demonstrate the proper way to paint carvings that have already been detailed. In addition, for those that are hungry, the Rendezvous will be hosting a special barbecue dinner for all carvers, with special door prizes as well.

Whether you are a pie-making novice or are just looking for some new tricks to add to your repetoire, you can join the Introduction to Pie Making class held at Silver Dollar City’s Culinary & Craft School. On select dates during May and June, Master Craftsman of Culinary Arts Debbie Dance Uhrig will guide students through the process of making a wonderful chocolate cream pie. The 60-minute class will feature special instructions on how make a delicious crust and the perfect meringue. At the end of the class, you will get to enjoy a sample of the pie. A One-Day Admission Ticket or Season Pass is required for park entry and reservations for the class are required. The Culinary & Craft School is located just past the entrance to Echo Hollow Amphitheatre.

Participants will rev their engines at Branson’s 10th Annual Motorcycle Rally on May 19-22, featuring motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the country and plenty of entertainment. The Freedom of the Road Riders will sponsor the event, giving visitors a chance to see some of the most famous bikes in the world, as well as a live performance by the band, Geneva as they perform their Rock N Ride Tour. Geneva and Billy Bretherton, star of “Billy the Exterminator,” will be signing autographs for fans. In addition, several show performers will be at the Mansion for this special event, including 3 Redneck Tenors, Red and The Liverpool Legends.

Grab your platform shoes and bell bottoms and head to the Tri-Lakes Center May 13 for a night of high energy dance music with a performance from 70s music icons, The Village People. Best known for songs like “YMCA,” “Macho Man” and “In the Navy”, the Village People have been traveling the world for the past three decades bringing the fun and frivolity of disco music to a new generation of music lovers. This will be the six man groups first time performing in Branson. Also performing that night will be A Taste of Honey, featuring original lead singer, Janice-Marie. A Taste of Honey is best remembered for such songs as “Boogie Oogie Oogie” and “Sukiyaki”. Rounding out this all star line up is Maxine Nightingale who sang chart toppers “Lead Me On” and “Right Back Where We Started From”. The stars plan on signing autographs after the show and you will definitely want to bring your camera along.

Branson visitors can take part in the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, giving competitors a chance to swing their hips, slick their hair back and please audiences with a great Elvis tribute on April 16. The contest will bring together the talent of many who know the songs and antics of the King of rock n’ roll. The contest will be provided by Elvis Presley Enterprise, Inc., and the winner will have the chance to compete in Memphis, Tennessee, during the city’s annual Elvis Week. In addition, he or she will also be given the grand prize of $1,000, and the Legends In Concert will let invite him or her to perform on April 17. This event, which takes place April 9th and 10th, will honor the 99th anniversary of the maiden voyage of the ill-fated ship and bring tribute to Jack Pillips and Harold Bride, who sent the first signals of distress on April 15, 1912, to alert rescue crews about the Titanic’s situation.
