The third Saturday of October you will find the largest parade in Southwest Missouri in Carthage, MO. It is the home of the Annual Maple Leaf Festival, and it’s close enough to Branson for a day trip. The parade is the Grand Finale of an entire week of fall celebrations for this wonderful historic town. Earlier in the week they hold the 5K Run, Sprint Dualthon, High Heel Race, a huge quilt show, and a variety of pageants. The Old Time Fiddle Contest is About to Begin at the Branson Landing!

Get ready for the 22nd Annual Old Time Fiddle Contest at the Branson Landing starting this Saturday, August 28th. The fiddling fun will go on both Saturday and Sunday, and there will also be a concert with Big Smith on Friday night at 8:00 pm. These festivities are all free, so you can enjoy the competitions, the Sunday Morning Gospel Service, and the finals taking place all weekend long. Come see Branson’s first show, the Baldknobbers Jamboree Show, which has been a local mainstay since 1959. Get Ready to Boogie With the Village People!

Grab your platform shoes and bell bottoms and head to the Tri-Lakes Center May 13 for a night of high energy dance music with a performance from 70s music icons, The Village People. Best known for songs like “YMCA,” “Macho Man” and “In the Navy”, the Village People have been traveling the world for the past three decades bringing the fun and frivolity of disco music to a new generation of music lovers. This will be the six man groups first time performing in Branson. Also performing that night will be A Taste of Honey, featuring original lead singer, Janice-Marie. A Taste of Honey is best remembered for such songs as “Boogie Oogie Oogie” and “Sukiyaki”. Rounding out this all star line up is Maxine Nightingale who sang chart toppers “Lead Me On” and “Right Back Where We Started From”. The stars plan on signing autographs after the show and you will definitely want to bring your camera along.

One Night Only – Charlie Daniels Band!

The Charlie Daniels Band will be making a special one time only apprearance at Branson’s Mansion Theatre on April 28 and you will not want to miss what is sure to be a rollicking good time. Daniels is a Grammy Award-winning artist as well as an accomplished guitar, fiddle and mandolin player. Inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, Daniels is best known for his hit song “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Other classic favorites include  ”The South’s Gonna Do It”, and “In America”. 2nd Annual Branson Gong Show Presents a Variety of Entertainers

Join Jim Barber, Dave Hamner, and Bob Anderson at the Jim Stafford Theatre on February 23rd for the 2nd Annual Branson Gong Show. This show, created to benefit Meals on Wheels for seniors, offers guests the chance to watch a variety of talented performers from across Missouri compete for the title of best talent in the region.

The most exciting part of the show is that you, along with Jim Barber, Dave Hamner, and Bob Anderson, are the judge. Each judge will be given a gong to signal that the performer should stop for the next act to begin. If you like an act, cheer them on, and if you want to move to the next act, shout for the judges to use their gong. You will see a variety of performers with anything from a musical act to dancing, so you never know what kind of act will be named number one for 2011!

Popular Branson Shows Begin Their Final Performances for 2010
