Carthage’s Annual Maple Leaf Festival on October 15!

The third Saturday of October you will find the largest parade in Southwest Missouri in Carthage, MO. It is the home of the Annual Maple Leaf Festival, and it’s close enough to Branson for a day trip. The parade is the Grand Finale of an entire week of fall celebrations for this wonderful historic town. Earlier in the week they hold the 5K Run, Sprint Dualthon, High Heel Race, a huge quilt show, and a variety of pageants. On the day of the Grand Finale Parade there will be Arts & Craft booths, a petting zoo, an auto show, a dog show, plenty of food vendors and live entertainment. Rookie and Veteran Woodcarvers Meet for Annual Woodcarving Seminar

Wood artists from all over the state will come out to the 27th spring Woodcarving Seminar to learn new ways to refine their techniques and meet with others who share the same passion for wood carving. Those that are interested in participating are encouraged to sign up sooner rather than later, as instructors will only be able to take approximately 15 carvers for each class. The seminar will also demonstrate the proper way to paint carvings that have already been detailed. In addition, for those that are hungry, the Rendezvous will be hosting a special barbecue dinner for all carvers, with special door prizes as well.

The Charlie Daniels Band will be making a special one time only apprearance at Branson’s Mansion Theatre on April 28 and you will not want to miss what is sure to be a rollicking good time. Daniels is a Grammy Award-winning artist as well as an accomplished guitar, fiddle and mandolin player. Inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, Daniels is best known for his hit song “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Other classic favorites include ”The South’s Gonna Do It”, and “In America”. The show begins at 8pm so don’t wait any longer to get your tickets. This year, The Mansion Theatre will also host these legendary performers: The Gatlin Brothers, Sawyer Brown, Tim Conway and the 3 Redneck Tenors.

Starting March 1 and running all the way through March 31, the 5th Annual Irish Festival will be remembered at the legendary Titanic museum in Branson, giving visitors a taste of some of the old folklore, legends and culture that has formed the foundations of Ireland. Learn about the talented Irish workmen and women that built the Titanic during its first stages in Belfast. Many Irish passengers were on the Titanic as well as it sailed across the Atlantic Ocean – more than any other nationality.
